Falling in Love with Fall (Trends, that is)

With Labor Day weekend rapidly approaching, fall is just around the corner.
Already our devoted Authentic Beauties are beginning to ask us, “What’s fresh for fall makeup?”

With the cooler weather on its way (hopefully!), the fashionable and fabulous find themselves wanting to change colors along with the leaves. While there is an abundance of fashion and beauty coverage readily available, many of our clients get overwhelmed and feel like they are simply too busy to keep up with what’s going on. That is exactly why we design our seasonal looks – we do the leg work so you don’t have to!

The Fall Fashion issues have hit the newsstands and we, at Authentic Beauty, have just unveiled our Fall looks for 2011.

After numerous hours spent scouring the runway trend reports and guides, we have hand-picked four definitive looks that are sure to inspire you.
Q: How do we choose four?

A: At Authentic Beauty, what is most important is that the looks are not only fresh and current but also wearable and easily translatable for everyday women. For example, while bright red and orange eyeshadow may be strikingly beautiful on the runway, it may not be the most wearable trend shown this past season.

Q: What makes a trend wearable?

A: We believe colors that will look good on a variety of skintones, eye and hair colors make a trend more wearable.

Over the next few weeks, we will be going over exactly how to recreate the looks from our Fall 2011 Romancing the Stones collection.

This collection is inspired by our experience of falling in love with the rich jewel tones that were all over the runways this season. Each look is named after a semi-precious stone or gemstone: Obsessed with Obsidian, Crazy for Carnelian, Gaga for Garnet and Tantalized by Tiger’s Eye.

Obsessed with Obsidian is our take on the graphic eye looks shown all over the runways in hues of slate and midnight blue.

Crazy for Carnelian is a soft, monochromatic peachy look with peachy tones on eyes, cheeks and lips.

Gaga for Garnet is a rich, wine-stained lip and clean winged liner.

Tantalized by Tiger’s Eye is our version of a bronze smoky eye paired with a frost-bitten cheek and pinky-nude lip.

We unveiled our fall looks at Champagne and Shadows this past Friday and, boy, they were a hit! If you were unable to attend, we will be holding two more Champagne and Shadows this fall so mark you calendars for September 23 and October 21.

In addition to Champagne and Shadows we are offering 3 different dates for Fall Trend Classes: September 14, and October 6 and 12, during which we teach step-by-step creation of each of the looks. The class on October 6 will be held at Tootsies (where our second location is, for those of you who didn’t know) and will also include a special trend report from Tootsie’s talented stylists and personal shoppers on fall fashion as well. Do not miss this one!

Hope to see all you Authentic Beauties at one of our events sometime soon!
