New Year’s Eve make-up

Now that Christmas has come & gone (well not yet, but plan ahead people!), New Year’s Eve is upon us. And I know that many of you will be staying at home & just hanging out with friends & loved ones. But the rest of you-glam up that New Year’s soiree with head turning looks from Authentic Beauty that will ensure a midnight kiss or two! We want to help you look your most fabulous on this upcoming fun night, so we are booking appointments all day for New Year’s Eve. We are doing a hair & make-up combo similar to a glorified Style & Shine. Call Stephanie for availability 404-849-0443.

I love all of the holiday 2010 signature looks for New Year’s Eve especially Santa Baby. The Santa Baby look with a slightly more smoked out eye & perhaps some winged eyeliner adds a little drama to a classic & beautiful look. No matter what skin tone you are, you can pull off Santa Baby for New Year’s (and any other time of the year too). Even though I named it Santa Baby, the look is perfect for any formal or dressy event.

The Ice Queen is also sexy, but keep in mind that it may be better when if you incorporate a little more Black Onyx shadow for NYE. Dramatic looks are so important on this night. You want to shine, not blend in with the crowd & with that being said, the Ice Queen look radiates sexiness with just a bit more black. Also be sure to lean more toward silver jewelry & silvery tones with this look. I also like it with a royal blue dress.

A gold lame frock & gold or neutral shoes definitely call for our All That Glitters look. The super wearable look won’t try too hard, but will also be incredibly classy & sexy, and will absolutely draw attention to you to ring in the New Year. It allows your natural beauty to radiate. I would suggest to definitely add black liner on the top lashline & wing it out a bit as well as replacing the white liner on the bottom lashline (waterline).

The Sugar Plum Fairy look is dramatic in itself with the smoky plumy eye. Again to amp up the look for NYE, I would suggest using a heavy hand when applying the black liner & winging it out. There are options for the lip, but for NYE I recommend lining lips with a Deep Plum pencil, topping with Wine lipstick & Show Stopper gloss; again go very heavy on the drama. This look can be paired with pretty much any frock in the fall/winter color palette-brown, black, winter white, purple, maroon, hunter green.

For all these looks, make sure to definitely add Glisten Up Shimmer Cream to your body lotion as well as underneath your eyebrows or in the inner corners. Also look into doing Robyn’s eyelash extensions or make sure to pick up some false lashes & let us apply them. So now you’ve got your plan of where to go & what to do, what make-up look you are going to use, but now you have to figure out who to kiss when the clock strikes midnight! So hold up a champagne flute & toast to a great 2011! You know I’ll be doing the same. Best wishes & see you soon for an appintment or see you next year!

Holiday Look #4: Ice Queen

Baby, it really is cold outside, so the final Authentic Beauty 2010 Holiday Look is incredibly appropriate. The Ice Queen is a shimmery, frost-bitten look with sparkling white lids, frostbitten pink cheeks, and an icy pale pink pout. It’s really stunning & I love it with a sexy, little black cocktail dress or even a shimmery silver or white or pale blue!

As always start with clear, flawless skin. To achieve that, simply cover up blemishes with our 3 in 1 foundation. Remember an important aspect of this look is that “just came off the slopes” rosy glow.  To achieve this, brush on Pink Petal blush. Glisten Up Shimmer Cream can also be used to achieve that chilly glow; I recommend it on your cheekbones. This shimmer cream also looks great on the decollete, browbone, or the cupid’s bow- wherever you want a little extra glow. I love the shimmer on the browbone because it really opens up your eyes. This shimmer cream is great for really any special occasion & I would recommend that is an item you invest in because you can use it all year.

For the eye, you’ll want to blend a white pencil onto the lid, and top it with Glitzy Shimmer powder to make your eyes pop. Add some black liner and Black Onyx eyeshadow along your lashline and in the crease & outer corner. For a little extra drama, add Exotic Shimmer powder below lower lashline. Also add some fake lashes or stop in for Robyn’s eyelash extensions. I know you’ll love them!

Lips are very sex kittenish with a pale pink neutral mouth. I like to fill in the lips with a Soft Pink pencil topped with Must Have Gloss. And if you really want to make your lips shine, use A Little Glitzy gloss in the center for super pouty pucker. I love this look not only for the holiday season, but it can also work well for New Year’s Eve. As I said, I love the shimmer cream for really any special occasion or a night on the town with the girls. I would love to show you how to do this look or any of our other holiday  looks, so stop by & see me or any other of my incredibly talented artists or book an appointment  online.
