Founded 18 years ago, our philosophy is real women, real life, real beauty made simple.
Authentic Beauty was born from the idea that a woman should never be told how she should look, while realizing that inner beauty, self-acceptance, and learning to express your Authentic Self are pathways to outer beauty.
In that vein, we are committed to helping women make peace with themselves and fall in love with what they see when they look in the mirror. We also believe in beauty with a clean conscience and many of the products we sell in salon and in the online store are vegan and organic.
Our ‘no wax and only tweeze’ brow services have earned Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon & Brow Studio in Atlanta national and regional awards including best brows Atlanta by Allure Magazine, and given Alyson Hoag the title of the brow guru for her ability to transform brows into gorgeous, natural-looking brows.
Brow services include brow tweezing (we only tweeze for the most precise, natural effect), brow tints, brow lamination, and brow arching through our brow rehab process.
We are also a multi-award-winning makeup studio, voted best makeup in Atlanta, year after year. Our services include makeup applications and makeup lessons for teens to women in their 90s and everyone in between.

During a makeup lesson, clients get to try Authentic Beauty’s very own brow and makeup line, Genuist Beauty, and the Magic 3 in 1 Foundation– a natural, wax-based, nontoxic, and moisturizing foundation that does 3 powerful things with this one product. It camouflages, conceals, and is a lightweight everyday foundation that leaves a glowy finish. It looks gorgeous on all skin types and shades, and it feels as if you are not wearing any makeup at all.
The Image Journey
The Image Journey is Authentic Beauty’s most memorable makeup lesson, and it is an interactive beauty and makeup journey and a self-discovery makeup lesson unlike anything else in the beauty world. About Alyson Hoag – Founder of Authentic Beauty
Alyson Hoag founded Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon & Brow Studio in Atlanta in 2008, establishing what is now a premier Atlanta beauty studio backed by her 35+ years of industry experience. Before launching the salon, Alyson worked with major global brands like Aveda, Lancôme, and Sebastian. There, she saw how traditional cosmetic standards and harsh techniques missed the mark on what women actually need for their daily routines.
To offer a better alternative, Alyson launched Authentic Beauty around a strict “Brows First” philosophy and a natural approach to makeup. Known as Atlanta’s Brow Guru, she has personally shaped and saved over 100,000 brows. Her makeup philosophy centers on the belief that makeup should work for you at every stage of life, from your teens to your nineties. She holds a particular expertise in working with evolving skin as it matures, ensuring cosmetics enhance natural beauty rather than masking it. This hands-on experience has made her a leading expert in tweeze-only brow restoration and clean, custom makeup application.

The breakthrough line has quickly garnered national attention and was proudly featured as a game-changing beauty solution for brows on NBC’s The Today Show.
