Starting July 1st, Alyson will no longer be accepting new brow clients. “I am committed to the brow process and to my clients that I see every 3 to 6 weeks. Given that timeframe, it is impossible to add any new clients,” Alyson said. Fortunately, she has been hard at work training her talented staff with her brow techniques. That technique and methodology has led to Authentic Beauty being named ‘best of the best’ for brows in Atlanta consistently over the past decade and change.
“It has been an incredible journey to launch and build this business over the past 14 years. Being recognized as the ‘Best of the Best’ for brows in Atlanta year after year is such an honor that I don’t take lightly. It has been 28 years since I started doing brows and I have become as successful as I have because my clients trusted me to transform their brows. Being booked consistently over 90% a week is something I never take for granted. I am honored and I am grateful that I get to take care of you,” Alyson added.
In the meantime, Crystal Archibald has been promoted to senior brow artist and her level of excellence in brows is evident in the number of people seeking her out. “We want to congratulate Crystal on her success of being booked consistently. Her work is excellent, and I am so proud of her achievement as a senior brow artist,” said Alyson. Beginning August 1st, Crystal’s brow arch will be $40, and her brow dye service will be $20.
Alyson’s brow commandments include no waxing and teaching her clients about the brow growth cycle. “I was taught how to fill in the brow to make the face balanced. I was also taught how to sculpt by tweezing and trimming. This is absolutely the most precise way. I believe in tweezing and trimming ONLY,” she said. And she teaches her staff the precision of tweeze-only brow artistry too.
“Brows are the single most important and undervalued feature of your face. They provide balance and expression to your face and if they are not shaped correctly, you may appear angry, surprised, sad, or even expressionless,” Alyson added. “If done correctly, brows can enhance the shape of your eyes and you can appear more awake and lifted!”
BROW REHAB
If you have over tweezed or if you are a victim of over waxing or threading, Alyson says let them grow. Brows grow on a four-to-six-week cycle. So, do not touch one hair for a minimum of 30 days. Then, you must clean up the brows slowly. “Because they grow like the “lawn of your face” you have to leave your brows alone repeatedly. Sometimes this process can take time but do not let them go unattended for 6 months. That’s because brow growth shuts down after 6 weeks. Using the lawn analogy, “if you wanted a beautiful lawn, you wouldn’t let it grow without mowing for 6 months. You need to get it on a cycle and get them growing all at the same time,” she added.
Every brow artist at Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon & Brow Studio is trained the way Alyson was when she first apprenticed under a renowned makeup artist. “I became a brow artist because I apprenticed with an amazing makeup artist who taught me how to do brows for photoshoots. It was in that instruction that I could see the importance and value of where the brows angled on the face,” she said.
