Here are 5 Makeup Tips from Rosie at Authentic Beauty in Atlanta for creating gorgeous makeup and showcasing glowing, flawless skin.

Magic 3 in 1 Foundation at Authentic Beauty in Atlanta

Rosie Gillespie, one of Atlanta’s top makeup artists, has 5 makeup tips from Authentic Beauty to help you put your best face forward.

1. Can I just wear one foundation color?
I get asked this by many of the clients I work with and the answer to this is probably not. Some people will luck out and find their exact shade on the shelf at the store, but for most people, it will take a combination of shades to perfectly match them. This is why Authentic Beauty’s customized for you, safe and nontoxic Magic 3-in-1 Foundation is offered in 3 different sizes (quarter, half and full-size pans.)

2. Should I wear powder on top of my foundation?
The old saying, ‘less is more’, can generally be applied to foundation. In most cases, if you layer too much on the skin, it will begin to look cakey and can actually make any imperfection more visible. When using our 3-in-1 foundation, you shouldn’t need to use a powder over it. Just wiping any excess product off your brush onto a clean towel and buffing your foundation with your brush should set the product perfectly for a beautiful, natural finish. If powder is used, it should be used lightly to achieve a soft, velvety finish.

3. Does eyeshadow make wrinkles more visible and/or make you appear older?
Yes, if the wrong type of shadow is applied, wrinkles can be made more visible and someone can appear older. I have found that for many of my more mature clients, a matte shadow is actually the ideal choice, especially when choosing a highlighter.

4. Consider Tinted Primer if foundation is not your thing

Tinted Primer is the best of all worlds- a primer, a foundation, and a sunscreen all in one and it is great for all skin types. Authentic Beauty’s tinted primer is a hydrating product that offers broad spectrum sun protection that helps protect and smooth your skin, even out skin tone and warm complexions with a subtle radiance.

This oil-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free primer is a blend of Hyaluronic Acid and age defying Ceramides, which helps to improve skin hydration and overall skin integrity. Bonus? It is derived from natural minerals that provides the right amount of coverage to balance unevenness while allowing your skin’s natural color to shine through. For my minimalist makeup wearers, the tinted primer can be worn alone, or underneath foundation and it helps to improve skin hydration and overall skin integrity. To apply, just smooth the tinted primer over a clean, moisturized face. It is that easy.

5. Should I wear lip liner?

Lip liners are extremely useful when you are creating a look that needs more definition or for longer wear. They are also useful for layering under a lipstick to create a more dramatic custom lip look; however, for a casual or day look, I usually will not recommend a lip liner. I find that not using a liner actually creates a more natural, even look to the lips.
