The Importance of a Facial Defined
Taking care of your skin is crucial. Studies show that the majority of people don’t know their correct skin type and because of that do not treat their skin correctly or in general treat their skin the way they should. Getting a facial is perfect for helping determine how to treat your skin on a regular basis. During a facial, your skin is analyzed by a licensed esthetician who is trained to essentially know skin.
The esthetician provides an accurate analysis, treats the skin, creates an appropriate treatment plan and makes home care recommendations enabling you to meet your skin care goals. Your skin will look and feel the best it ever has which will allow your make-up to go on more smoothly leaving you looking healthier and more vibrant. Amy Shultz, Authentic Beauty’s licensed esthetician will not only give you all the information you need to know about your skin & skin type, but she will also provide you with a relaxing, rejuvenating and restoring experience that will transform your skin. You’ll be so thrilled with the results you’ll want to go back more than just once!
Typically a facial deep cleans, exfoliates & nourishes the skin to promote a clear, well-hydrated complexion. The process begins with a skin analysis & from there the esthetician will treat skin properly. This makes such a difference. Many spas say they will treat your specific skin type but in actuality will do a “one size fits all” facial. This cheats the customer & their skin! Amy is very thorough with your skin analysis & in the end, it absolutely shows. As many of you know, we use Amala products which not only are free of toxins & good for your body & skin, but are also created for specific skin types.
Deep cleansing of the skin during a facial rids the skin of dirt, debris and environmental toxins to allow your skin to maintain a healthy balance and enhance its ability to fight off disease & aging. It also enables the skin to better absorb the products applied months after the facial for nourishment, protection and exfoliation. Exfoliation is another technique that helps the skin subsequently better absorb products in the days & months to come. It involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Amy does exfoliation while a steam vapor is directed at your face. The steam helps open up the pores even more & helps loosen the dirt & debris in skin, which in turn, encourages the extraction process.
Obviously extraction is just the removal of dirt & debris from your skin. In layman’s terms, it is safely & gently removing blackheads & whiteheads. Your esthetician will then give you a facial massage. This dilates the vascular system, encouraging it to bring nutrients & moisture to the deeper layers of the skin help eliminate toxins for a clearer complexion. It also removes waste & toxins produced during normal cell metabolism. This stimulation will bring a healthy glow to the skin.
A professional facial is always more effective than a DIY facial no matter what you believe. Professional skin care products have a higher percentage of performance ingredients than over the counter products. OTC products need to be benign enough for use by the “masses” & most of them are so toxic that you wouldn’t even want to know what kind of stuff goes in them anyway. We recommend Amala products not because we have to meet a sales quota for the day, but because we think they are best. In the long run, you will save money by not buying products that are A) Toxic and B) Not effective for your skin type.
Having beautiful, healthy skin makes you feel great about yourself – and it will show!
