Created by Atlanta makeup artist Ashlee Cappelli, the Amber Dahlia makeup look captures the golden glow of a sunset in full bloom. It balances warmth and vibrancy with golden eyes, sun-kissed skin, and a beautiful coral lip. A Level 1 makeup look is an effortless, defined look that enhances your features in 10 minutes or less. It’s perfect for busy mornings or when you want maximum impact with minimal effort—simple steps that bring out your natural beauty without feeling heavy or overdone.

How to Create the Amber Dahlia Makeup Look Level 1
Step 1: Skin Prep & Face
- Mix Coola’s Dew Good Illuminating Serum with Aly’s Magic 3-in-1 Foundation, and apply the mixture with the Moda Metallics Complexion Brush and blend evenly over the face and down the neck for a natural, dewy look.
- Brighten the under-eye area with the Liquid Concealer in the shade Light Peach (or an appropriate concealer for your skintone) using the White Faux Concealer #640 Brush.
Step 2: Brows & Eyes
- Apply the Molten Metal Powders for Cheeks & Eyes in the shade Golden Vanilla all over the lid, staying under the crease.
- Use the BMD-466 Brush to blend the Amaretto Matte Eyeshadow into the crease of the eyes using windshield wiper motions for soft definition.
- Fill in the brows using the Brow Tint with Fibers for a natural, polished look.
- Highlight under the brow bone with the Duo Brow Highlighter Pencil in the shade cream (matte side). Then, blend it out with your finger for a seamless finish.
- Use Genuist Beauty’s Tiny Liner and apply that to the base of the lashes. Then, tightline the eye (on the waterline between the lashes) using our Gel Eyeliner Pencil in the shade Noir.
- Finish with Aly’s Miracle Mascara to enhance and define the lashes, completing the daytime look.
Step 3: Cheeks
Add color to the skin by applying cream blush to your cheeks using the Cheek & Lip Creamstick in Orchid or Tulip (depending on your skin tone). Use your finger or the brush on the opposite end of the cheek & lip creamstick to blend out.
Step 4: Lips
- Apply the Lip Glitz in the shade Steal the Show (a sheer coral gloss) and this level 1 makeup look is complete.
How to Create the Amber Dahlia Makeup Look Level 2
Take your Amber Dahlia makeup look to the next level with deeper hues and added dimension for a stunning transformation. (You will be enhancing the Amber Dahlia Level 1 makeup you have already applied in the below steps.) Shop the look here.
Step 5: Brows & Eyes
- Starting with your Level 1 makeup already applied in the above step, use the OMNIA Professional BOM-460 Brush and apply the Prosecco Single Satin Eyeshadow over your existing eyeshadow for added luminosity.
- Apply the Minkstole- HI DEF Pigments in the crease, layering it over the Amaretto Matte Eyeshadow to deepen the contour.
- Add Beauty For Real’s I-Line 24-7 Gel Eyeliner in the shade 24 Karat to the inner corner of the eyes for a touch of gold sparkle.
- Line the bottom lash line lightly with Genuist Beauty’s Tiny Liner, stopping at the gold highlight. Blend with a Taklon Pointed Liner C250 Brush for a soft, smudged finish.
- Use Genuist Beauty’s Roller Brow Defining Pen to fill in any sparse areas of the brows.
- Apply the Sunset-HI DEF Pigments lightly as a highlight to the brow bone using the Royal & Langnickel BOM-48 Smudger Brush
Step 6: Cheeks
- Apply the Cheek & Lip Creamstick in the shade Lily as your cream blush over your existing blush for a fresh pop of color. This sheer blush acts like a highlight adding a natural golden hour glow
- Tap a little more of the Sunset-HI DEF Pigments (that you used above) to the top of the cheekbones for a radiant highlight. Avoid the under-eye area to keep the look fresh.
Step 7: Lips
- Apply the Galena Street Satin Lipstick for a sophisticated yet fun pop of color and top off your level 2 makeup look with the Lip Glitz in the shade Steal the Show for a stunning, high-shine evening lip that ties the entire look together.
