Dear Everything: A Musical Uprising for the Earth in Atlanta

Dear Everything: A Musical Uprising for the Earth is coming to Atlanta for one night only on Thursday, September 25th, at The Eastern (777 Memorial Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30316). As the founder of Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon & Brow Studio, I’ve always believed that true beauty is about authenticity, courage, and using our gifts to make a difference. That’s why I’m honored to serve on the host committee for this extraordinary event.

This groundbreaking theatrical event was written and directed by Tony Award winners V (formerly Eve Ensler)—the legendary playwright of The Vagina Monologues—and Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin), with music by Grammy nominee Justin Tranter (Chappell Roan, Selena Gomez) and more.

Dear Everything blends concert, storytelling, and powerful performance into a mythological tale of transformation and hope. Featuring eleven incredible performers and a dynamic youth choir, the show portrays families in a small town navigating today’s urgent environmental challenges while youth fight fiercely for their future. It’s a production full of righteous outrage, galvanizing music, and anthems that will bring audiences to their feet.

My Journey with V and the Movement

This event is deeply personal to me because of my long history with V and her life’s work.

I first encountered her in the late 1990s through The Vagina Monologues—a play that not only changed theater, but gave voice to millions of women’s stories of survival, sexuality, and power.

Alyson Hoag, CEO of Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon & Brow Studio and host committee member for Dear Everything: A Musical Uprising for the Earth, with V (formerly Eve Ensler), creator of this groundbreaking musical uprising and The Vagina Monologues. The show comes to Atlanta on September 25, 2025, at The Eastern.

Soon after, I had the honor of doing makeup for Jane Fonda when she performed in A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer, a collection of writings edited by V. Jane leaned toward me and whispered, “Take care of Eve.” (She was still going by Eve then.) That moment changed everything.

When I met V for the first time, I felt her energy instantly—the kind of presence that instantly wows and glows from the inside out. Soon after, I was invited to New Orleans for the 10th anniversary of V-Day, her global movement to end violence against women and girls. Alongside 17 makeup artists from Atlanta, I helped care for more than 2,500 women affected by Hurricane Katrina. That same weekend, I witnessed the largest-ever performance of The Vagina Monologues featuring Salma Hayek, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Hudson, and so many others.

Alyson Howard Hoag of Authentic Beauty in Atlanta walked the runway for Best Self Atlanta Magazine's Fashion Meets Passion runway show and philanthropy event as she raised money for City of Joy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her dress was made for her by the Congolese women of City of Joy.

Since then, my path with V has remained intertwined. I’ve supported One Billion Rising, marched against gender-based violence, and most recently, walked the runway for Best Self Atlanta Magazine’s Fashion Meets Passion event to raise money for City of Joy—a revolutionary leadership center in the Democratic Republic of Congo co-founded by V, Dr. Denis Mukwege, and Christine Schuler Deschryver. The women of City of Joy have endured unimaginable violence, yet they continue to transform pain into power. Wearing a dress handmade by them on that runway was one of the most powerful experiences of my life.

Why Dear Everything: A Musical Uprising for the Earth Matters Now

Now, V is turning her vision toward the planet itself. Just as she has given voice to women silenced by violence, she is now channeling her artistry to speak for the Earth, the youth, and our shared future.

In Atlanta, the performance will launch its premiere tour, and it will be amplified by the Dear Everything Youth Climate Council, created by Atlanta’s own Maya Penn. Together, we will uplift the voices of local youth activists who are already leading the charge for climate justice.

This is more than a show—it’s a movement. It’s about rising up, together, to imagine and create a world where both people and the planet can thrive.

Join Me on 9/25!

I invite you to stand with me, V, and countless others in this global movement by attending Dear Everything: A Musical Uprising for the Earth on September 25th. Bring your friends, your family, and anyone who believes in art as a catalyst for change.
