From a young age, Dana Dowell was told she should consider a field working with her hands. “I was told my touch was very healing,” Dana said. So, she went to the International School of Skin, Nailcare & Massage Therapy where she received her degree as a licensed esthetician in 2011. “To heal the skin, fix imperfections and help someone solve their issues is amazing to me.”
Today, Dana is an esthetician at Authentic Beauty Salon & Studio specializing in facials, eyelash tinting, full leg, bikini and underarm waxing and back treatments.
“You can’t reach your back well in the shower so a back treatment consists of cleansing the back, exfoliating and extracting impurities and imperfections and then a massage,” Dana added. After the massage, she does an additional cleansing to removing excess oils and toning and moisturizing. In the summer, Dana says sunscreen is integral at the end of this treatment. The one hour back treatment (with a massage) is just $80.00. The half hour treatment is just $50.00 (no massage.)
No matter the treatment, Dana’s true passion is in healing and teaching clients how to use products and services to best suit their skin. “I love to see the change in peoples’ skin and I love to see a client who comes in with issues and leaves knowing that those issues can and will be resolved!”
