Blue Emerald: A Spring makeup tutorial from Authentic Beauty

Blue was a definitive color seen on the spring runways of Missoni, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs and blue eyeliner drew all the attention to the eyes.

Our makeup artists at Authentic Beauty scoured the runways looking for ways to transform these runway looks into a reality. Then, our artists translated these trends into wearable makeup.

From our Spring 2016 Seasonal Looks Makeup Collection Precious Gems, Blue Emerald features a neutral eye lined with a pop of alluring blue emerald eyeliner and holly berry lips.

We started by applying our tinted primer broad spectrum spf 20 over the entire face to create a gorgeously flawless canvas. The tinted primer broad spectrum spf 20 is a light weight primer with broad spectrum sun protection that hydrates, protects, smoothes, evens tone, and enhances the skin’s natural radiance.

Next, we applied our safe and non toxic Magic 3-in-1 Foundation as needed on the face for additional flawless coverage. This one product does 3 very powerful things. Learn more here.

We then added some Satin Glow baked finishing powder to the face that added a subtle shimmer.

Then, we swept Bouquet blush on the cheeks to add  a fresh rose-pink hue to the cheeks.

On the eyes, we started with a neutral eyeshadow called Cosmic Latte that we applied to the lids and we used Tiramisu as a contour color.

Then, we highlighted the brow bone with the Champagne Pink brow highlighter stick. We went more neutral on the eyelid so that the eyeliner would really pop.

On the upper lash line, we used the Blue Emerald shadow mixed with Seal the Deal on the top lash line.

Then, we used the Mermaid eyeshadow mixed with Seal the Deal in the inner corners of the eyes. Seal the Deal by Nurturing Force is a vegan product and liquid that we use that turns any powder shadow into a liquid liner. It is a liquid converter, when mixed with cake eyeliners, powder eye shadows, mineral makeup, pigments or brow makeup to create a makeup cream. Or, it can be applied over eye shadow makeup with a soft shadow brush, over a cosmetic pencil with a soft liner brush or with a spoolie over a brow pencil or makeup. Mix with liquid or cream makeup, it becomes your Mixer Fixer

Next, we defined the brows with our Brow Definer in soft taupe. This precision pen defines and fills in brows for hours of indelible wear. It’s quick-drying, doesn’t smudge and creates a natural, professional finish.

We finished the eyes with the Volume X mascara in ink.

We lined the lips with the Holly Berry lipliner and then added a creamy, Velvet Nude, lipstick made right at our studio at our custom blended lipstick station. This lipstick is a mauve nude, creme based lipstick that looks particularly amazing on fair skin tones and is fashionable year round. Then, we topped the lips off with Ava, a custom made lipgloss, that comes in a warm, nude pink. Read more about our custom blended lipstick and lipgloss station here.
