FROM RUNWAY TO REALITY: SPRING 2013 MAKEUP FROM AUTHENTIC BEAUTY

At Authentic Beauty, we have a passion for fashion, and what is trending on the catwalks each season. Our makeup artists study what the top designers and makeup artists are presenting on the most famous of runways in New York, Paris, London, and Milan. Then, we translate that into wearable makeup and teach you the techniques and tools you need to achieve the most eye catching looks each and every season.

THE MAKEUP & FASHION FORECAST

On the Spring runways this year, makeup trends ran the gamut from all out glam to refreshed and au naturel. Traditional colors got reinvented. The biggest lip trend included a new take on red in the form of fuchsia. From Oscar de la Renta and Missoni, we saw fuchsia and bright colors applied to lips resulting in a standout pout!

The eyes were a huge focal point with playful springtime pastels blossoming in a host of fashion houses. Stella McCartney kept things stunningly blue-tiful with striking hues of blue and green applied to the eyes.

Makeup application also reigned supreme. Marc Jacobs kept the eyes graphic and bold inspired by the likes of Edie Sedgwick and at Gucci, the eyes smoked and smoldered.

On the other side of the spectrum, the nude lip was prominently featured by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana featuring a bare yet beautiful neutral lip and glowing, natural looking skin. And at Carolina Herrera “smoky has gone soft for 2013 as eye color follows the natural bone structure without completely transforming the eyes.”

THE LYRICAL LOVELIES: AUTHENTIC BEAUTY’S SPRING 2013 MAKEUP LOOKS

Fusing music with makeup and the above trends,  Authentic Beauty’s Spring 2013 Makeup Looks span the ages and musical genres. Reminiscent of the sirens who lured in sailors with their enchanting music, The Lyrical Lovelies are true femme fatales who steal the Spring scene and command attention! All eyes are on her!
