How CoolSculpting Changed My Body: Alyson Howard-Hoag

Cool Sculpting Slim Studio Atlanta

Back in 2015, I got my first CoolSculpting treatment at Slim Studio in Atlanta- Atlanta’s premier BodySculpting center and the only facility in Georgia that exclusively performs EmSculpt & CoolSculpting.

My first CoolSculpting experience from 2015. The results are permanent.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, non-surgical medical fat reduction technology that eliminates stubborn fat deposits which are resistant to diet and exercise.

That first procedure I got was such a success that I ended up with my stomach on their marketing materials because I had such great and noticeable results. You can read more about my first experience here.

Fast forward to the summer of 2019. I had just planned to try an additional procedure at Slim Studio called EmSculpt and then take a surf trip of my dreams with a group of women. EMSculpt NEO is the first and only non-invasive medical procedure that helps both men and women build and define muscles to sculpt their bodies without needles, knives, or anesthesia. This groundbreaking technology is designed to build & define the abdominal muscles, the biceps, triceps & calves.

Sadly, I broke my foot, and my hopes of getting the last 10 pounds off were totally dashed.

In 2018, I turned 50 and that year I committed to celebrating the entire year! I think I ate and drank everything I could! Think of it as my eat, pray, love year. I spent that year traveling and celebrating and by the start of 2019 I found myself in a position where my clothes were tight, and I knew it was time to reign it in. I started going back to the gym consistently and I went back to Slim Studio for a consultation for EmSculpt and with the intention of getting another round of CoolSculpting as well.

As was explained to me by the incredible staff at Slim Studio, some people will be ideal candidates for EMSculpt NEO; some people will be better suited for CoolSculpting, but many people will find a huge benefit in receiving both EMSculpt NEO and CoolSculpting to help build muscle and eliminate fat.

Unfortunately, neither procedure happened. In July of 2019, I broke my foot, and the 10 pounds I gained in 2018 stayed put, and I added a few extra pounds given the fact that all my workout plans came to a screeching halt.

And then 2020 happened.

With my broken foot healed but with the gyms closed and everything shut down, I debated what my best options were for working out from home. Buying a Peloton bike intrigued me. I was a former competitive cyclist and I raced for 10 years or so. You can read about that here. But the thought of spending that amount of money for an indoor bike plus monthly fees for classes seemed excessive. Fortunately, I had the chance to try out a few Peloton classes at the Kimpton: Hotel Eventi that I often frequent when I am in New York doing brows.

I wanted to not like it, but I fell in love with the Peloton experience. Then, I attended an annual conference for Scout & Cellar: the clean crafted wine company I love and am a part of. (You can read more about my foray into the wine business here.)

Robin Arzon, Peloton’s VP of Fitness Programming, spoke as the keynote speaker at the event and I thought, ‘how serendipitous.’ After Robin’s speech, I knew a Peloton bike was in my future and I got the bike on March 20th, 2020. I have ridden nearly 250 rides and already this year I have ridden over 1000 minutes with a 33-week streak. (If you are a Peloton rider, please add me as a friend and add #authenticbeauty to your profile. I am hoping to coordinate a group ride soon and would love for you to join our pack!)

Fast forward to 2021 and my 2019 plans of getting in the best shape of my life in my 50s are back in motion. While I have not gotten back to the physical gym, I am happy to say I take classes at home with my favorite yoga instructors in Atlanta at Fuse and Barre 3,  along with doing regular weight training and my Peloton rides. I am motivated to stay fit, healthy, and looking my absolute best. I understand over 50 your body has a hard time keeping and building muscle. We are also prone to osteoporosis and gaining fat.

So, once again, I turned to my neighbors at Slim Studio, located right next door to Authentic Beauty, at 4684 Roswell Rd NE A2. In February of this year, Robbie Spence, the Slim Studio Director, recommended I do an additional treatment of CoolSculpting on my abdomen area.

I cannot explain to you in words how amazing the results are. Better to see the video for yourself. Slim Studio documented my CoolSculpting procedure. Click here to see my incredible CoolSculpting Before and After Treatment

My CoolSculpting treatment results are outstanding. Again, this is a non-surgical procedure that delivers powerful results. I cannot speak highly enough about the procedure, the Slim Studio staff, and the results are obvious. I also highly recommend this to men and women of all ages and particularly to my fellow 50 and 60-somethings who are putting in the work athletically and nutritionally and want an even more power packed punch with jaw dropping and head turning results.

The best news about CoolSculpting is that I will see continued improvement over the next 6 months and today (after all these months) I head back to Slim Studio to try EMSculpt.  Stay tuned for my follow up blog in the weeks to come.
