Meet Mandy Morrison: Authentic Beauty’s new expert-level makeup artist, brow specialist and esthetician

Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon and Brow Studio is thrilled to announce the hire of Mandy Morrison, an award-winning makeup artist, esthetician, and brow expert whose work has graced runways, been showcased in nationally recognized films and on TV and who has helped countless women look and feel their absolute best.  Her services at Authentic Beauty include lash lifts, lash tints, brow lamination, brow tweezing, organic facials, dermaplaning, and makeup artistry including makeup lessons, makeup applications, special events, and on location makeup.

Mandy Morrison

As a licensed esthetician, Mandy has over 15 years of experience as a ‘tweeze-only’ brow specialist. “With tweezing, I have more control with the shape of the brow I am providing for my clients,” Mandy said.  “Hand tweezing also allows for a precise shape customized to enhance your unique features. And waxing is damaging to the skin. If people need to work on growing their brows at any age,  tweezing is the absolute best option, “ she added. She uses the same techniques as Alyson Howard-Hoag, the brow guru and CEO & Founder of Authentic Beauty, and like Alyson, she cannot stress enough the importance of being on a brow schedule.

“I recommend scheduling an appointment every 6 weeks or so to keep your brows in the absolute best shape. We also have a great brow fortifying product that helps your brows grow back and if peach fuzz comes in, we will tint that fine hair and begin to structure your brow as the process unfolds.”

Mandy will also consult with you and give you instruction so you can groom your own brows between appointments. Read Mandy’s guest blog post  about the most common mistakes she sees when it comes to brows here

As a professional makeup artist, she can create a high fashion look as is evident in her extensive lookbook on her website where her work has appeared on runways, in national magazines and on film.  Yet it is her passion for creating natural and attainable makeup that is the primary focus of her makeup lessons so that her clients can take the skills they learn in a makeup lesson or even a makeup application and then go home and recreate that look at home.

Published in Austin Monthly, Texas Monthly, Southern Living, Southern Weddings and voted as the best makeup artist at the Austin Fashion Awards, the Texas transplant and now Atlantan brings her extensive beauty experience to Authentic Beauty. “She comes with such in depth experience and passion to make women feel their absolute best and that is exactly what Authentic Beauty is all about,” said Alyson Howard-Hoag.

“It was evident upon our first meeting that Mandy has a commitment for helping women look and feel their best and that is our mission at Authentic Beauty,” Alyson added. “Mandy’s extensive experience and talent in makeup artistry and brow shaping are exceptional and I am so excited to welcome her to Authentic Beauty and to the Atlanta community as well.”

Mandy’s makeup and brow work has been featured in national commercials including for AT&T and Cadillac, with talent for South by Southwest® (SXSW®) and she’s worked with numerous artists, actors and musicians including Bonnie Raitt and Metallica to name a few.

“My mother was a hairdresser, so I grew up in the beauty industry and I’ve had this passion for making people feel good about themselves since childhood,” Mandy said. “Now more than ever, people lost sight of self-care through the pandemic. And as the world is opening up, self-care and a routine of self-care are so good and necessary for our wellbeing,” she said.

Mandy also shares Authentic Beauty’s mantra of beauty with a clean conscience having worked with a lot of organic, high end, natural products. She also engages in healthy marketing practices meaning she won’t suggest a product to her clients to meet a sales quota. Her clients’ needs are her top priority, and she will only recommend products she would use herself and ones that will give her clients what they want while being safe and nontoxic.

Lastly, Mandy believes in the mantra of Authentic Beauty which  is real women, real life, real beauty made simple. “It’s such an eye-opening experience teaching a client that they can use one product in 3 different ways and introduce women to makeup where they can see the transformation makeup can have with just a few products and tips.”

Authentic Beauty was born from the idea that a woman should never be told how she should look, while realizing that inner beauty, self-acceptance and learning to express your Authentic Self are pathways to outer beauty. Mandy is committed to helping women make peace with themselves and fall in love with what they see when they look in the mirror.
