January doesn’t ask you to reinvent yourself. It asks something more precise.
Who are you now and how do you want to show up in the life you’re already living?
At Authentic Beauty Makeup Salon & Brow Studio in Atlanta, January is not about starting over. It’s about authorship. It’s about intentionally designing an image that reflects who you are — not a trend, not a template, not who you were ten years ago, but you.
That is where the Image Journey Makeup Experience in Atlanta begins.
What the Image Journey Is
The Image Journey is a two-and-a-half-hour, private, guided makeup experience in Atlanta created for women with full, engaged lives, and for women who enjoy beauty, value self-expression, and want their image to reflect the life they are living.
Most women don’t walk in saying, “I need a makeover.” They walk in knowing something doesn’t quite land — not wrong, just unclear.
They’re busy. They have careers, relationships, travel, responsibility, and momentum. They want to look as good as they feel, and they want their makeup routine to make sense. And they don’t want to guess.
The Image Journey is a guided experience that teaches women how to intentionally design an image that reflects their authentic self, and gives them the skills to recreate their image on their own, again and again, as their life evolves.
This is not a traditional makeover.

How the Image Journey Makeup Experience in Atlanta Works
The Image Journey does not begin with products or trends. It begins with visual self-expression.
Before her appointment, each woman completes a guided Image Journey exercise inspired by the work of author Sarah Ban Breathnach. She is asked to imagine herself living her life in the spaces she moves through, the work she does, and the way she shows up, and then to gather images that inspire her.
Not to compare or to copy. But to notice what resonates with her.
These images become a visual language — a starting point for authorship.
When she arrives at the studio, she brings her completed Image Journey exercise and the makeup she already owns
Her guide is Alyson Hoag, award-winning makeup artist, brow expert, and founder of Authentic Beauty. With more than thirty years of experience and decades of working with women behind the chair, Alyson approaches makeup as a way of designing expression, not following rules.

Together, they:
- interpret the Image Journey images
- assess what already works in their makeup routine
- they translate inspiration into a clear, wearable image that fits her real life.
- And you learn how to apply a Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 makeup framework to support real life
This is where women stop guessing about their image and start choosing and authoring how they look.
What You Leave With
Every Image Journey concludes with:
- a clear image that reflects who you are
- simple, repeatable makeup techniques you can recreate yourself
- a personalized face chart
- a complimentary, 30 minute follow-up session to refine and reinforce the work
Women leave with the clarity and confidence that comes from knowing how to recreate their image on their own as their life evolves.

Why the Image Journey Matters
The beauty industry offers templates.
The Image Journey offers authorship.
Instead of asking women to chase trends or add more, this experience teaches women how to design their image intentionally — for work, for travel, for celebration, for everyday life.
It brings play back into beauty.
It makes space for evolution.
It allows women to look in the mirror and love what they see — because it finally feels like them.
January is a powerful time to ask one simple question: Does my image reflect my authentic self? For many women, the Image Journey is the first time that answer becomes a confident yes.
