Pretty in Pink: A Spring Makeup Tutorial from Authentic Beauty

When it comes to Spring 2017 beauty trends, pink is definitely not just for the young– but also for the young at heart! From vibrant hot pink and shimmery champagne pink, to almost nude pale pink and uber feminine light pink, full faces of pink frolicked down the runways this season.

One of our favorite makeup tricks on Spring 2017 runways was a tendency to use blush on the eyes and lip gloss on the cheeks for a surprisingly soft style that looks great on anyone– and, with so many pink hues from which to choose, it’s easy to find one that suits your authentic style.

Designers including Delpozo, Adam Selman, Fenty PUMA by Rihanna, Brock Collection, Tadashi Shoji and many more showcased the very best of the full pink face.

From our Spring 2017 Seasonal Looks Makeup Collection, Belle Epoque, Pretty in Pink flips normal makeup application on its head by applying blush on the eyes and lip gloss on the cheeks. In the end, you’ll create a totally rosy look that will have you looking sweet (but definitely not 16)!

Spring Makeup Tutorial: Pretty in Pink

Begin by applying our Tinted Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 over your entire face in a color that works with your skin tone using our Morphe M439 brush. We used Medium on our model.

Next, apply our Magic 3-in-1 Foundation (we used Fawn here) as needed over your face for additional coverage and under your eyes for concealer using the Morphe 69 brush.

Lightly dust our Sally B’s Luxury Mineral Foundation (Cinnamon is shown here) throughout the T-zone with the Morphe 67 brush to absorb shine.

With this unique look, we used lip gloss on the cheeks and blush on the eyes.

For blush, use your fingertips to blend and dab our Love Potion gloss on the apples of your cheeks all the way up to the temples for a dewy, natural glow.

Next, highlight your brow bone with Cosmic Latte blush followed by Oatmeal blush. Use the Squirrel Special Crease brush for a soft, smooth blend of the two colors.

On your eyelid, sweep the Cosmic Latte and use our Nectar Blush on top. Blend to a very light pink using the Chisel Deluxe Fluff brush.

In the contour, apply Nectar blush and blend throughout the crease. You can build this for a more dramatic effect using the Morphe M441 brush if desired.

Add our Mystic Waterproof Gel Liner to the top of the lash line, and use the same liner under the eye from the outside corner to about a quarter of the way in toward your nose. Use the 1A brush to blend.

Use our Precision Brow Pencil in a color to match your brows (we used Brunette on our model), and complete the eyes with our Blinc Amplified Mascara in black.

Complete our Pretty in Pink look with our Love Potion gloss on your lips. If a more dramatic effect is in order, apply our Waterproof Gel Lip Liner in Raspberry before applying the gloss.
