Cherry Bomb: A Spring Makeup Tutorial from Authentic Beauty

There really is no substitute for the classic red lip, and runway makeup totally amped up the offerings for Spring 2017! Bold statement lips were everywhere (Trussardi, Valentino, Simone Rocha and Mary Katranzou, to name a few) and were mostly in red matte but also boasted some fun two-tone looks in everything from orange to hot pink.

Although we saw a few smudgy, smokey eyes on some runways, such as Carolina Herrera, the classic red lips were mostly paired with a beautifully dewy face for a super modern twist on consummate Old Hollywood Glamour.

Designers including Jason Wu, Cushnie et Ochs, Olivier Theyskens and many more, had troves of models on the catwalk who seemed to be wearing no makeup at all– save red lips– and completely rocked the runway in this fresh look.

This fresh-faced style really exemplifies the need for a great skincare regimen that includes exfoliation and lots of moisture. You definitely can’t get this kind of complexion through makeup alone!

From our Spring 2017 Seasonal Looks Makeup Collection, Belle Epoque, Cherry Bomb makes a big, bold statement with its classic red lips and fresh, dewy skin. Even better? It goes from work day to evening effortlessly!

Spring Makeup Tutorial: Cherry Bomb

Start by applying our Tinted Primer with SPF all over the face for an even, luminous complexion.

Next, apply our Magic 3-n-1 Foundation to any areas of your face where more coverage is desired.

Begin your eyes by applying our Eclipse Liquid Shimmer eyeshadow evenly over your lids, followed by a layer of Sandstone Liquid Shimmer eyeshadow over the base layer of Eclipse.

If you’d like a bit more definition to your eyes, our Taupe Tan eyeshadow can be added to the crease area of your eye.

Follow with our Matte Beige Brow Highlighter below your brow.

Line your eyes with Adorn Gel Liner, and finish with two coats of Blinc Amplified Black mascara.

On your cheeks, the Bronzed Beauty Duo is applied beneath the cheekbones for a light contour effect.

Follow the Bronzed Beauty Duo with our Plumeria Baked Blush on the apples of your cheeks for a natural glowing flush. It helps to smile when applying.

The va-va-voom lips are what make this look really stand out! Apply an even coat of our new Liquid Matte Lip Color in Ex’s and Oh’s for a fun, wearable red lip that looks great all day and night!
