Recap of the Pure Fashion Show

Recap of the Pure Fashion Show

As most of you might know, I have been super busy this past week, well actually this past month, so I am just now getting around to writing my recap of the Pure Fashion Show last Sunday! Let me tell you, it was truly amazing to see all these beautiful young girls not stand for anything less than what they want & know they deserve in all realms of life. Pure Fashion is so important today because it helps young women re-discover and re-affirm their innate value and authentic femininity. Pure Fashion is a character formation program that enhances not only a young woman’s external appearance, but more importantly, her interior beauty and balanced self confidence.

We kind of had a long day, but it was worth it. Our team arrived at Opera at 10 a.m. on Sunday & began working to get make-up on the many girls who were going to be modeling in the fashion show showcasing JcPenny & Carter’s fashions. We really focused on keeping with a natural, youthful look & obviously, wanted their natural beauty to shine through. All the girls were really sweet & I had such a great time talking to them & learning about their life stories, dreams & hopes. We also had a great lunch catered by the Cafe at Pharr.

The doors opened at 2 p.m. & there was a flood of children-girls & boys-as well as their parents. Everyone, including me, enjoyed bites from Tin Lizzy’s, Dogwood, Chow Baby, Here to Serve restaurants & 10 Degrees South; all I have to say is YUM. Most of the team had left by then & Andi & I were the only ones left. Andi was upstairs manning our Authentic Beauty booth in the courtyard & I was doing touch ups on all the models downstairs. There was a lot of interest in Authentic Beauty’s concept from all the people at the show & that was especially heartwarming.

The show went off without a hitch & all the models looked amazing! I was very proud of all my artists that day. Quinn, my daughter was also there & I am so proud of her too! Just sayin’. Anyway Jonny Diaz, the Christian singer, sang several inspiring songs after the fashion show. One such song, “More Beautiful You,” really exemplified the whole purpose of the show & Pure Fashion itself as well as Authentic Beauty. I loved being involved with Pure Fashion & I hope we get to work with this incredible group next year! I also want to give a shout-out to Bert’s Big Adventure! Check out the coverage by Metromix of the show.
