Spring Make-up & Fashion Trends at Authentic Beauty-The Prima

Fashion & beauty go hand in hand, and the spring 2011 trends from the runways have arrived in Atlanta & the make-up that pairs perfectly with these trends is at Authentic Beauty. We are the number one source who can help you figure out what make-up looks from the runways are best on you & what just doesn’t work. Most importantly, we can show you how to make the runway trends wearable, so you can enjoy being high fashion while still staying your fantastic Authentic Self!

Bold, well groomed brows, simple yet bold eyes & pink cheeks that pop are all key make-up trends for spring 2011 we’ve seen on the runways of the fashion houses of Jason Wu, Proenza Schuler, Oscar de la Renta (all three are Fashion Cares alums), Chanel, Michael Kors, Peter Som, Rodarte, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs & Calvin Klein. Authentic Beauty’s Prima emphasizes these three make-up trends for spring 2011. Fashion wise, we’ve seen that 60’s & 70’s cuts & prints (swingy coats, high waisted flare jeans-hello Dazed & Confused) are in as are military inspired jackets, tops & dresses (olive, beige & tan sheaths are simple yet elegant) and ladylike sheaths & circle skirts emphasizing the waistline.

We also love the vibrant & bright Japanese style pieces like kimono sleeves, obi belts & mandarin colors. And while we heart the satiny pieces, it’s important to stay away from wearing too many at once for fear of looking costumey. The latest fashion trends we mentioned above go perfectly with the four spring 2011 looks that any Authentic Beauty can pull off. The looks are: The Prima, The Rocker, The Understudy & The Starlet. Please read below to learn more about The Prima.

The Prima is all about a simple, beautiful, straightforward look. It begins with shaped, well groomed brows with a strong arch. Obviously if you haven’t already, please come visit me for a brow shaping, so you can start this look off with a bang. Begin with the WonderBrow shade that matches your skintone & hair & use short, blunt strokes with a mini-brush to define the brow line with a strong arch.

Then to play up the eyes, you’ll want to blend a white pencil onto the lid, and top it with Glitzy Shimmer powder to make your eyes pop and use white shadow below the eyebrow.  To make the whites of the eye appear brighter, use a white eye pencil along the waterline. Next, curl your lashes & apply a coat of Blinc black mascara that we have at the studio. For added drama, mix eyeliner sealer and black shadow together to create a liquid liner and draw a thick black line with the Squirrel Precision Blender brush along the top of the lash line and smudge. This creates the necessary added drama.

For skin, use the 3 in 1 foundation where needed & smile widely brushing a soft pink blush like our Pink Petal blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Finish with the Berry lip liner & fill in your lips with the Love Potion No. 9 gloss. This simple, basic, beautiful & very wearable look goes well with the high waisted jeans that hail from the 60’s & 70’s & the ladylike glamour seen on the runways of Louis Vuitton.
