The Sally: A Fall Makeup Tutorial from Authentic Beauty

One of our favorite Spring 2017 trends was all over pink faces, so we were tickled, well, pink when the naturally flushed look carried over into the traditionally richer Fall season. For Fall 2017, this look has been updated to a slightly windswept style that is as pretty as it is wearable.

We named this Fall makeup look from our Rebel with a Cause collection for American physicist and astronaut, Sally Ride. In 1983, she became the first U.S. woman in space and remains the youngest U.S. astronaut ever to travel to space. In so doing, she played an invaluable role in gender equality and taught millions of young girls all over the world to dream big because anything is possible– even reaching the stars!

Designers including Delpozo, Moschillo, Nina Ricci, Bora Aksu, Aigner and many more features some of our favorite flushed windswept looks.

From our Fall 2017 Seasonal Looks Makeup Collection, Rebel with a Cause, The Sally will inspire you to reach for the stars with a windswept look that’s fresh, light and pretty. Peach pops will have you feeling like your very own constellation.

Fall Makeup Tutorial: The Sally

Start by cleansing and prepping your skin with our Organic Spa Cream Cleanser, Organic Spa Toner, Organic Spa Intense Moisture Moisturizer and Sonia Roselli Water Balm.

Then, apply our Tinted Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 over your entire face in a color that works with your skin tone using our Morphe M439 round buffing brush. Blend well. We used Medium on our model.

Next, apply our Magic 3-in-1 Foundation (we used Soft Beige here) as needed over your face for additional coverage and under your eyes for concealer using the Morphe 69 concealer brush.

Apply Satin Glow to your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and forehead with a large powder brush and finish off your face with our blush in Nectar using an angled blush brush.

For the eyes, begin by applying Oatmeal matte shadow on your brow bone and eyelid with a large shadow brush.

Next, apply Peach Sorbet to the eyelid with a medium shadow brush, and follow with Peach Topaz in the contour and above the contour line. Blend with a crease brush.

Make your eyes pop by lining the upper and lower lash lines with our Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Noir, and be sure to sightline your inner rims for a more dramatic effect. Blend the eyeliner on upper and lower lash lines with a small blending brush to give a smokier look.

Finally, use the XLXL Mascara in Black on your upper and lower lashes. Then, fill in your brows with a Precision Brow Pencil in a color that matches your natural hair color (we used Brunette on our model).

Complete our Sally look with our Rave Review gloss on your lips. If a more dramatic effect is desired, apply our Gel Lip Liner in Bordeaux before applying the gloss.
